Event recap: Optimising real estate for wellbeing and change

Date: Tuesday, 14 October 2025

Location: MillerKnoll, 20 St John’s Square, Farringdon, London EC1M 4AH

Abintra Consulting recently joined industry peers for an exclusive evening of discussion, learning, and networking.

Optimising Real Estate for Wellbeing and Change was hosted by MillerKnoll at its striking London offices in Farringdon next to historic St John’s Gate.

The event brought together industry leaders, workplace innovators and changemakers for a timely exploration of how organisations can adapt their real estate strategies to promote wellbeing, connection, and continuous change.

David and Abintra’s PR and marketing consultant, Duncan Hopwood, met many fellow attendees interested in our space utilisation technology, especially the flexibility of our wireless sensors and our readiness to carry out four-week surveys in relatively small workspaces.

The setting for the event, a mid-20th century workspace abutting the historic St John’s Gate, captured the spirit of the discussion: blending heritage and innovation to meet the demands of the modern workplace.

A timely discussion on people, place, and technology

The event explored how design and data can work together to create environments where both employees and organisations thrive.

Abintra has more than 20 years of experience in global corporate environments, helping to maximise value from office real estate, and we’re delighted that wellbeing is now firmly on the agenda.

Our technology helps organisations to develop the spaces their people actually need, boosting productivity and providing a competitive advantage on recruitment and retention.

The event delivered engaging dialogue and real-world insights from panellists Bex Moorhouse (Global Head of Strategy, Ops Excellence and Performance – Procurement and REWS at international marketing group WPP), Caitlin Begg, Founder of New York-based Authentic Social, Frank Lee, Associate Director for Real Estate Advisory at PwC, and Katerina Ford (Global Head of Real Estate and Workplace at global investment organisation EQT Group.

Together, the speakers unpacked the evolution of the workplace and the growing importance of technology in supporting people and place. Conversations focused on emerging trends in hybrid work, workplace wellbeing, and how data-driven design can foster more effective and resilient environments.

Connecting and collaborating in the built environment

Representing Abintra, David and Duncan took part in the networking sessions before and after the discussion. It was an ideal opportunity to exchange ideas with other professionals in the built environment and to explore how Abintra’s expertise in workspace analytics and environmental data monitoring aligns with the themes of the evening — from optimising space and sustainability to enhancing the human experience at work.

David was pleased to have time for a discussion with Bex about her work at WPP during the post-event networking.

In the spirit of wellbeing, guests also enjoyed an informal happy hour with alcohol-free and regular beer and wine, continuing the conversation around how real estate, design, and technology can combine to create workplaces that support wellbeing, performance, and adaptability.

Abintra extends sincere thanks to MillerKnoll for hosting an inspiring and insightful evening, and to all who attended — including Katherine Harvey from Rethink, Sam Rawlins-Kinloch from HG, Ruth Smethurst from the Government Property Agency, Amy Bagshaw from CVC, Scott McCubbin of Continuous, start-up consultant Alicia Peel and Kate Mullins from Ohana.
